* We received a financial gift that enabled us to pay for our home study IN FULL! * We went to an adoption fellowship where we were able to meet dozens of families who have all adopted, or are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia. We were so encouraged!
August 2010
* Our adoption last month was a success. We raised over $2400 that has allowed us to proceed to the next stage through the adoption process.
* We were approved! The adoption application has been accepted and we have been assigned a family adoption coordinator. Her name is Christina. Please pray for her as well while she guides us through this process.
* We have made our first major payment toward AWAA (our agency) and are eager to complete paperwork, training seminars, and the home study.
* We are very busy right now! Michael is wrestling with school this semester and the overload of paperwork is overwhelming. Please pray for patience and peace through the paper-trail. We have a long way to go but know God's timing is everything. Thank you for your support.
July 2010
* We have completed the adoption application and submitted it to American World Adoption Agency for approval on July 1st. Although there was an expense to do this, God has provided the means. The normal waiting period to hear back from them is 10 days.
* We are gearing up for our yard sale. People have been donating generously toward the sale as we have received a nice amount of stuff. The yard sale will actually be a "sidewalk sale" at a store front on Main Street in Taylorsville. We are in the process of moving our items to the store already.
* We are waiting for the arrival of our prayer bookmarks. We made and ordered specially designed bookmarks to give away free to help remind people to pray for our journey through adoption. If you want one, please let us know. We only ordered 250.
* We are praying for the child(ren) that God has chosen for us. Somewhere there may be a pregnant mother and/or a nursing baby(s) waiting until the day we bring them home.

* We have selected the country we want to adopt from, Ethiopia, and think we want to adopt two children under the ages of 3; an infant and toddler.
* We have started on the application process; have submitted our letter of request and are finalizing our application to adopt.
* We are praying that God would remove all barriers during this time as we move through the first step.

* After a great amount of prayer and consideration, we have decided that we feel lead toward adopting internationally.
* We have been talking with people with experience from different adoption agencies trying to find which one we want to use.
* We selected an agency, American World Adoption, and are praying about what country in which God would have us adopt.
April 2010
* We have been praying about whether or not adoption is for us. Could this really be part of God's plan for our lives?
* Received a packet in the mail from a Christian adoption agency endorsed by Steven Curtis Chapman. There's a lot to this stuff! This won't be an easy and quick decision.
* Decided to announce our prayer request to close family and friends about our recent thoughts on adoption and finding God's plan for our family.
